Why the SATCC?

"When I originally trained as a therapist I experienced first-hand the anxieties therapists suffered about being able to safely treat someone living with cancer.  Over the following years in my leadership roles, I continued to see my teams either panic or express concern about the distress they could cause to a guest with cancer who has asked for hands-on therapy treatment. This concentrated my focus on understanding more about the delivery of safe therapy treatments and meant I have provided SATCC Standard training to my therapists in my last two spas.  I have been so pleased to see the positive difference that this training and the treatments have meant to both my teams and guests.

My passion for providing wellbeing to people with life challenges has also been enhanced through the wellbeing events I have run at the Coworth Park Spa for those living with cancer and the joy I have experienced by seeing and hearing the beneficial impact these events have had on them.  I have joined the SATCC to work more closely with others providing support and touching the lives of people living with cancer and I am really keen to share my experiences to extend the positive impact that we can have across our sector.”

"Spas and wellbeing providers have an important role to play in positively touching the lives of people living with cancer. I am really looking forward to being part of the SATCC community and continuing to identify ways in which, together, we can benefit those with life changing challenges."
